Origin case study

H501: the field work that shaped Hubia.

H501 Barber Urbe is not a Hubia customer today. It is the first real project that showed what a venue actually needs: simple bookings, known customers, useful messages and a calmer working day.

We tell this story transparently: H501 came before Hubia, and some things work differently. But many current product choices started there.

The context

What it really proves

At first, it looked like the job was to put opening hours online. In reality, the venue needed to see who was coming, remember customers, send reminders and bring people back after a long pause.

It proves the problem is real: when a venue owns its digital channel, it can keep bookings, customers and history without handing the relationship to a marketplace.

What was built before Hubia

  • Phone-first booking for customers.
  • Staff area for the day, customers, services and messages.
  • Reminders and notifications to avoid missed appointments.
  • Customer history, offers and return flows.
  • A project made specifically for that barbershop.

Why Hubia is different

  • Hubia is not a copy of H501: it is the next step.
  • H501 was made for one venue; Hubia is designed to be activated across many local businesses.
  • Hubia now brings together staff dashboard, customer app, booking site, plans, payments, branding, notifications and automation.
  • Some H501 screens or rules are not identical in Hubia: this page explains the origin, not a 1:1 product promise.

The main lesson

The main lesson was simple: the product has to make the venue’s day easier, not just look polished. Hubia takes that work and turns it into a cleaner, easier-to-activate product for new venues.
